About
Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, John Monic Delante is a visual artist based in Toronto, Canada. Working primarily in photography and image-making, his practice explores notions of home, belonging, and identity through images that examine the connections between people, places, and memory. Informed by his experience of moving between the Philippines and Canada, he considers how photographs negotiate intimacy, distance, and temporal shifts. He builds a visual language that revisits memory and explores how their meanings continue to shift over time.
Delante received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022. His work has been exhibited at Gallery 44, Latcham Art Centre, the plumb, Artspace TMU, and as part of the CONTACT Photography Festival.
