About

Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, John Delante (b. 1998) is a Toronto-based visual artist whose work explores home, belonging, and identity through photography. Engaging with memory, temporal shifts, and the tension between intimacy and distance, his images consider how spaces and relationships shape one’s sense of self and open possibilities for reimagining the future. Informed by his experience of migration and cultural transition, his practice situates identity as fluid, moving between the familiar and unfamiliar. He earned a BFA in Photography Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022 and has exhibited at Gallery 44, Latcham Art Centre, and Artspace TMU.
